Taylor Swift posts sexy bikini snaps and shows off her belly button

Taylor Swift does have a belly button and yes it’s adorable. The “Shake It Off” singer showed off her bikini body while vacationing with the band Haim in Hawaii in a series of snaps on Instagram.  Swift and the trio of sister, Este, Danielle and Alana Haim posed for several photos while hiking and boating.

The 25-year-old singer’s bikini shots may surprise fans because she had previously confessed to not wanting to show too much skin.

"When you start showing your belly button then you're really committing to the midriff thing. I only partially commit to the midriff thing—you're only seeing lower rib cage. I don't want people to know if I have one or not. I want that to be a mystery," she told Lucky magazine. "As far as anyone knows based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I'm going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it's going to be right next to my belly button because no one's ever going to see that."

Lindsay Lohan could be jailed for incomplete community service

Lindsay Lohan could be jailed for incomplete community service

24/Jan/2015  //  260 Viewers

The Mean Girls star was required to undergo 240 hours of unpaid work as a punishment for a reckless driving offense in 2012 and is due to show proof of completion on Wednesday - but insiders told website TMZ she "isn't even close" to finishing her sentence.

Lohan was originally due to have finished by a court hearing on November 6, 2014, but her lawyer told the judge at the time she had only done half the hours, prompting the new date to be set.

The Machete star will reportedly claim she ran into difficulties because the community service centre in London, England closed for two weeks over the festive season and she was subsequently hospitalised after contracting Chikungunya, a debilitating, untreatable virus caused by mosquito bites.

However, prosecutors may not accept the excuse as she contracted the virus while holidaying in Bora Bora - a time when she could have been completing her community service - and could order a jail sentence.

This isn't the first time Lohan hasn't abided by court-ordered punishments.

In both 2009 and 2010, she failed to complete alcohol education programmes, while also in 2010 she missed a court hearing, claiming she was stranded in Cannes, France, after having her passport stolen.

She was late for another hearing in 2013 after missing a flight, while in 2010 she had probation revoked after cocaine was found in her system.

Mandy Moore and musician Ryan Adams are pulling the plug on their marriage.

“Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost six years,” a rep for the couple said in a statement to the Daily News late Friday.

“It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways, and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time,” the statement said.

The singer-actress filed her surprise divorce petition in Los Angeles on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences, RadarOnline.com first reported.

She’s asking for spousal support and said the date of their separation was to be determined.

Moore, 30, married Adams, 40, in Savannah, Ga., on March 10, 2009.

The split came after Moore provided backup vocals on Adams’ self-titled 2014 album and after she gushed about her husband on social media.

“So proud of @theryanadams on his brilliant new record. Yah, I’m biased but it’s a must-listen,” she wrote on Twitter Sept. 9.

The couple also celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary with a party last March, according to People.com.

Moore even posted a photo of her marriage certificate on Instagram with the caption “The best 5 years.”

Universal limelight for Ireland’s warrior queen

Universal limelight for Ireland’s warrior queen

23/Jan/2015  //  261 Viewers

From the gold laden glitter of an Aztec headdress adorning Miss Honduras to the perky buzby sported by Miss Great Britain and the fearsome Celtic warrior floated on stage by Ireland’s Lisa Madden, the national costume show was all about pride of place during the 63rd annual Miss Universe Competition at Florida International University in Miami.

Looking like a one-woman army, Lisa Madden, Miss Universe Ireland, wore a dramatic costume of armour in shades of red straight from the early Middle Ages while Britain’s Grace Levy showed off a 21st-century slimmed-down version of a Grenadier Guard uniform at Buckingham Palace.

Earlier, the Cork model who is studying dentistry at UCC played a round of golf with Donald Trump, who owns the Miss Universe pageant.

Ireland’s costume was created by Claire Garvey, a designer based in Temple Bar who has designed everything from wedding outfits to mobile phone covers for Nokia.

All the ladies wore a range of costumes more elaborate than you would find at a celebrity wedding, each featuring a symbol of their nation’s culture and spanning a dress inspired by the Byzantine era on Miss Russia to the national tree sprouted by Miss Venezuela.

Adorned with 10 ice hockey sticks and an electronic scoreboard, Chanel Beckenlehner risked electrocution while doing her bit for Canada’s national sport.

The Dominican Republic was graced in every sense by an angelic salute to the country’s patron saint, Our Lady of Altagracia. The costume worn by Miss Dominican Republic, Kimberly Castillo, drew the most attention — not all of it favourable.

The designer of the dress, Leonel Lirio, maintains that it’s a work of art, created to celebrate Our Lady and the Infant Jesus.

“The dress is embroidered by hand, decorated with a special stamping technique. Its blue veil is stamped with stars and represents the light that radiates from her extraordinary presence in the soul of the nation,” he said.

As cool as an icicle, Finland’s Bea Toivonen looked like a beautiful swan or an ice maiden in her all-white outfit, complete with wings.

German contestant Josefin Donat didn’t quite wear her heart on her sleeve but looked a picture in an outfit with prints of Berlin on her skirt and the Brandenburg Gate on her chest.

Miss Sri Lanka, Marianne Page, was the most patriotic of all as the only contestant to make her own national costume. The outfit features intricate beading, jewels and several metres of tiny mirrors.

The contestants, meanwhile, are gearing up for the final of the competition which takes place in Miami on Sunday.

The stress levels were rising for most of them, but not for Nia Sanchez who came dressed in an elaborate version of the stars and stripes on the American flag. The metre-long white feathers were all hand-stitched onto her silk corset.

“I don’t feel any extra pressure because, oh my God! it’s in my own country,” she said. “I’lI actually feel I have less pressure. I can just go in there and have fun because I’m in a comfortable zone.”

The final of the Miss Universe pageant takes place at Florida University in Miami on Sunday.

More than 80 contestants from around the world will compete in swimsuit, evening gown, and interview rounds in going for the crown.

The event will be hosted by Natalie Morales of America’s Today show and MSNBC anchor veteran, Thomas Roberts.

A look at the Academy Awards and the Sundance kids

A look at the Academy Awards and the Sundance kids

23/Jan/2015  //  231 Viewers

PARK CITY, Utah — An Academy Award nomination is an incomparable stamp of approval for any film — and for an indie feature coming out of the Sundance Film Festival, in some cases, it’s a downright miracle.

The festival, which kicked off this week in Park City, Utah, has had a scattered record with the Oscars, but its track record for the night’s top award — best picture — has been steadily improving over the past few years.

This year, “Whiplash” and “Boyhood” — both Sundance premieres — are among the eight best picture nominees. “Boyhood” is considered a favorite to win.

Coming on the heels of previous best picture nominations for Sundance films like “Precious,” ‘’Beasts of the Southern Wild” and “Winter’s Bone” over the past few years, the festival has become a breeding ground for awards candidates. In 2014, for example, Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash” was programmed as the opening night film.

Erik Davis, a contributing editor at movie ticketing site Fandango, believes it’s a ripple effect.

“Because filmmakers, studios, producers are seeing a lot of Oscar movies begin to come out of Sundance, I think they’re looking at Sundance as a strategy to put the movies that they feel have a chance in the Sundance lineup,” said Davis.

Davis said he’s seen the quality of the films steadily increase in the decade since he began attending.

“In all the years I’ve been going to Sundance, I’ve never seen an opening night film as strong as ‘Whiplash.’ I feel like the festival was kind of making a statement but at the same time taking a risk by programming such a strong film right at the start of the festival,” he said.

“Whiplash” in some ways is the ultimate Oscars Cinderella story. What started as a short at the 2013 festival and premiered in feature form at the 2014 festival without a distributor lined up 12 months later gets singled out by the Academy as one of the best pictures of the year.

Producer Bob Tourtellotte (”Meth Head”) thinks the focus on festivals has intensified due to the changing landscape of theatrical releases.

“Because there are fewer dramas in theatrical release and one of the few places to see the new and the best of indie dramas is Sundance, then when it comes to Oscars, those dramas at Sundance gain even greater importance and visibility,” he said.

Some movies, Tourtellotte said, come to the festival with an eye on the prize. Others, like a “Whiplash,” for example, benefit from the fact that there is so much media and industry already there.

Keith Simanton, managing editor of IMDB, thinks that there is something bigger going on that all started with the Academy’s expansion of the best picture category from five films to as many as 10.

“I think ironically what’s happened is now it’s almost like ‘best of the fest’ in some ways. This year is a very good example of that. Every film except for ‘American Sniper’ debuted at a festival,” he said, referring to this year’s best picture nominees.

While the Toronto International Film Festival and Telluride will continue to be harbingers of major awards contenders from major studios, mainstream success for an indie film festival is challenging to maintain year after year.

“It’ll be interesting to see how they follow last year,” said Davis. “That actually kind of puts pressure on the film festival to keep up with that. If they don’t have two or three best picture nominees that come out of this year’s lineup, is it a failure for them?”
